Lately, I've found myself feeling as if the whole world is burning down around me. There's a whole lot of uncertainty, anxiety and suffering happening out there, from the personal to the political. The things I got accustomed to rely on are shifting faster than anyone thought possible... and in a direction that makes me feel very uneasy. Occasionally, I find myself angry and teary-eyed, or hunkering down with a bowl of chocolate ice cream... weak attempts at finding respite amid the turbulence.
In times of trouble, deepen your practice.
With things feeling so arbitrary, confusing and complex, it is easy to get pushed off center and into a swirling vortex of doom. In lieu of answers, all I can say is... these times demand resilience and that comes from a practice of self-care.
Resiliency keeps us centered, grounded, healthy, focused, clear, and able to bounce back from adversity and respond appropriately. It can look like a walk in the woods, a watercolor station, a bath, or a Feldenkrais lesson!

A Feldi lesson is a moving meditation that helps slow things down, quiets the internal monolog, and gives you the restorative benefits of physical reorganization and mental rest.

My classes are now available for free via the gift economy I teach twice a week. If you or someone you know wants to try one, just email me.
Whatever you do, don't let the world push you too far off center. Go deep, practice self-care, and build resiliency... we're all going to need it.
