Public & Community Projects
I worked for the US Forest Service for 10 years, as a specialized Enterprise Team member, and also on the Mt. Hood National Forest, the Inyo National Forest, and finally in the Pacific Southwest Region office (Region 5).
I worked in recreation doing all sorts of stuff like designing campgrounds, trailheads, picnic areas, boat launches, and trails. I also worked on interpretive signs, maps and graphic design. I did a lot of writing for NEPA projects needing recreation, scenery and soundscape expertise. I organized community meetings and led public design charrettes, and I was the original point person for an ambitious region-wide interagency project called CAR-LESS CA. It was our way to begin to address the barriers that California's underserved populations face in connecting to our public lands.
